Report: Azerbaijan to support oil price stabilization in Doha
BAKU, Apr 11 (PRIME) -- Azerbaijan will support proposals on stabilization of global oil prices at a meeting of oil producing states in Doha on April 17, Trend News Agency said citing a statement of the country’s Energy Ministry on Monday.
“The position of Azerbaijan is to find ways to stabilize oil prices on global markets. That is why Azerbaijan will support decisions to be made at a meeting in Doha to stabilize prices,” the authority said.
A representative of the Energy Ministry said that Minister Natig Aliyev will participate in the meeting.
Earlier Rovnag Abdullayev, CEO of State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), said that the country is ready to freeze oil production in 2016 at the level of 2015. Azeri oil output amounted to 10.5 million tonnes in January–March. At present, the country produces about 0.85 million barrels of oil daily.
